To finish off the birthday celebrations, my family and I have a feast at one of our favourite locals Golden King 2000. Look familiar? Why, yes – we went here for my birthday last year (I think it will now be a tradition from here on in).
I don’t know if this tomahawk steak needs an introduction to be honest. This 1.3 kg baby (yes really) is served up at former Masterchef Australia contestant Jay Huxley’s newly established Hux Bistro located in Canley Vale, in the south-west of Sydney.
Being a local, I can assure you no other restaurant serves such a beast of a steak around the area, well, not yet anyways.
We had ONE dinner reservation during our stay in Hawaii and that was at Alan Wong’s. There was no real reason but to just enjoy the final days of our vacation.
Before every long day a good breakfast is in order. After picking up our rental car from Budget Honululu we set out on our adventure. First thing is first though….. learn how to drive on American roads with this beast. You see, in America not only are you driving on the opposite side of the road, but you’re also in the opposite side of the car! Luckily the boy had it down pat and we we’re happy drivers in no time :)
To be honest I didn’t know too much about the concept of ‘boiling crab’ until my cousins told me about seafood being served by the pound in bags. It made no sense to me! There was only one way to sort this problem out….
