Aqua Ombre Birthday Cake

14 Mar

Happy 25th Birthday to my amazing other half, who is the best eating companion anyone could ask for :D

Ombre Cake

He doesn’t know it yet but I baked him a vanilla butter cake with lemon buttercream frosting. It was my first attempt at doing ombre icing and I’m quite happy with it, but it’s far from perfect. Perhaps I should google some ombre icing tips next time, though I know I can hold my head up high for the fact I did it on my own ;)

Can’t wait to dig in tonight!! =D

Recipe: Peanut Butter Chocolate Protein Balls

27 Feb

As some of you already know, I’m quite the fitness freak when I’m not at work or when in the kitchen. Eating clean (well, half the time) and training hard are my main goals for 2013 and so far so good. Biggie and I are always trying to mix up our breakfasts, lunches and snacks to maintain our goals. I came across the idea of protein balls from an old primary school friend and was determined to make them myself. Google really is your best friend.

Recipe: Gingerbread Cookie Pops

22 Dec

It’s ever so close to Christmas now with only 3 sleeps to go. I can hear Santa’s sleigh bells ringing. I really do love the festive season and celebrating with my family and friends make it all the more fun. The Christmas celebrations have already started. Woo hoo.

Just Cakes

13 Jul

Those who follow me on instagram would know I’ve been baking quite the bit lately. I’ve always had an interest in baking. Back in the high school days I would try to bake my girlfriends something for their birthday even if it meant out of a packet and asking my parents how to use the hand mixer and oven. So really, all I’d do is mix the ingredients and my parents would do the rest. Times have definitely changed.

I must say that being an Aunty has definitely ignited the bigger baking spark in me. Nothing beats baking and designing a personalised cake (or any other baked treats) for the ones you love most. A big thank you goes out to the Boy who supports me and helps me when I’m about to fall apart because things just don’t go to plan.

It’s time to show you some of the things I’ve made over the past months….

Chewy Anzac Cookies

24 Apr

A quick recipe post: – with ANZAC Day being tomorrow, there is no better reason to bake some ANZAC cookies fit for this memorable day. I’ve always been a fan of the chewy sort of cookies, well, I’m actually like that with all cookies. I much prefer that soft and chewy texture as I think it melts in your mouth a bit more.

Happy Easter

9 Apr

Another quick (photo) post relating to Easter. Hope you’ve all enjoyed the long weekend so far. I’ve definitely been a busy girl and have been trying to get into the spirit of Easter and not just filling my belly with chocolates. I’ve been spending more time in the kitchen lately making some Easter treats :)
