Happy Friday! To celebrate the upcoming weekend, I thought I’d share my first and only ramen burger experience so far – sorry Sydney siders, this was not in Sydney!
And there’s another ramen place to visit in our lovely city of Sydney. Ramen Zundo isn’t new to the scene, it’s actually been around for well over a year now but I’ve only just been able to make the visit.
The restaurant is tucked away in one of the lane ways and entrances to the World Square Shopping Centre.
Everyone has their own take on what a holiday should be. I love getting caught up in the ‘norm’ of each place that I visit. I love doing touristy things, but at the same time I want to do what locals do. I’m not a difficult traveler but I am one of those people who need an itinerary, or at least a rough sketch with room for movement. In my upcoming Hawaii posts you’ll find it’s not just about the food, but some activities too :)
This winter sure feels like it’s all about the ramen. We welcome another ramen joint that enters the Sydney restaurant scene. I sure have no complaints as I think it’s the perfect winter warmer.
Chef Haru, the former head chef at Blancharu, has ventured into Haymarket (Chinatown) and opened up his own ramen bar – Ramen Ikkyu. There’s been an influx of ramen updates on instagram and twitter since it’s opening 2 weeks ago (July 4, 2013) and I’ve been left curious since – ping @ramenraff
It’s no question that the Japanese cuisine is a favourite amongst our family. Knowing how much us Aussies enjoy it, my cousin Mr. T took us to one of his favourite places to have ramen in his home town, Los Angeles.
