A few short hours after landing in Melbourne we make our way to Mamasita for our first feed in this city. You could say I had an eating itinerary so watch this space for some of my Melbourne eats to come. We’ve always had a soft spot for Mexican so thought it’d be a great way to start our trip.
El Loco at the House, Sydney
21 JanA collaboration between the Merivale Group and the Opera House sees a pop up El Loco location with one of the best views of our Sydney Harbour on the Western Broadwalk. Mexican Cantina style food with an incredible view? There’s not much more that can be asked for.
Mexico: Food and Liquor, Surry Hills
14 JanAn unofficial Christmas lunch with some uni girlfriends brings us to Mexico. Sadly, not literally. I wish though. This new kid on the block is situated where the late District Dining used to be (still sad I didn’t get the chance to visit). Mexico first started in New Zealand (that sounds really wierd) with two places already established, and branched out offshore here in our Sydney Surry Hills streets.
Cantina Mobil Food Truck
4 JunFinally, part of the food revolution has hit us with some Sydney Food Trucks roaming the Sydney streets (only at council approved locations of course)! I do like to refer to them as kitchen on wheels which they are essentially. The first of which was to launch was Cantina Mobil, offering mexican treats and non alcoholic sangria (which I sadly didn’t get to try).
