MoVida has expanded and finally made its way to Sydney and found a home in Surry Hills. You can hear just about every Sydney-sider cheering because now there is no need for a trip to Melbourne to get a dose of Frank Camorra. I’ve not been to any MoVida locations in Melbourne so was very excited to try the one in Sydney, 6 weeks after the opening.
Laduree, Sydney CBD
22 OctWhile I was overseas, the infamous Laduree had opened in Westfield Sydney. I was bummed that I missed out on the opening but am also glad that I wasn’t here for the long queues that I had heard all about. Luckily for me, I could quickly duck down at any time during my working day and that I did.
Quarter Twenty One, Sydney
4 JulFor the month of June Westfield Sydney launched The Chefs Club, a Tuesday Night only special menu for $30 amongst (then six) now 7 participating restaurants in Westfield Sydney. Due to popular demand, it has now rolled over into July, and will continue indefinitely.
Not knowing how long The Chefs Club was going to go for I quickly go ahead and make a booking at Quarter Twenty One, another restaurant I’ve been wanting to dine at for a while.
Xanthi, Sydney
29 JunIt took almost a year to get myself to Xanthi – one of the restaurants situated on the Dining Precinct (Level 6) of Westfield Sydney. I was envious of all the posts I had read – I’d love to link all the ones that made me drool but there’s just too many. Being in charge of a catch up due with some important people in my life, it was a no brainer that Xanthi was my pick for the evening.
HARVest Cafe, Bonnyrigg
16 AprLiving out west means that brunch places are quite limited. Of course there’s always Cabramatta for your all sorts of Asian cuisines for any time of the day but sometimes, just sometimes, there’s the craving for some toast and eggs. It is really simple and worth it to make at home, but it’s also convenient to head out and order it to have it made for you. It was nice to have stumbled across something so close to home - we found this hidden gem in and amongst the Bonnyrigg Garden Centre. It’s gorgeous that the cafe is located in and has a garden surround – it really makes the atmosphere a pleasure to be in.
Arras, Sydney
23 FebI was rather spoilt for my twenty-fourth birthday. As a belated gift, the boyfriend’s sister took me (as well as the boy, and her significant other) out to Restaurant Arras. On my birthday/Christmas card she revealed to me where she wanted to take me. I was super excited. It took a while for us all to find a time where we were all free so we could have a fancy dinner.
