While I was overseas, the infamous Laduree had opened in Westfield Sydney. I was bummed that I missed out on the opening but am also glad that I wasn’t here for the long queues that I had heard all about. Luckily for me, I could quickly duck down at any time during my working day and that I did.

The shop is located at Shop 3048A, level 3 at Westfield Sydney. It’s very exciting for Laduree to have expanded its doors, all the way to Australia. It has such a grand name for itself that it was only time a shop opened here.

Having walked passed and visiting a Laduree shop in Paris, the shop here in Sydney gives off the exact same vibe. I think Westfield Sydney has the perfect ambience to have something like this in one of their spaces.

I always get giddy when seeing macaron towers. They make me smile all the time!

Popping by early in the morning meant that I got to see mass amounts of macarons with each flavour having a plenty.

I saw some of the staff ever so carefully putting out the macarons. Such delicate treats deserve the best of care.

Of course, I couldn’t walk away without my own stash.

A dozen macarons $38.40
In no order I sampled the strawberry poppy, almond marshmallow, vanilla, pistachio, chocolate, raspberry, blackcurrent violet, strawberry marshmellow, salted caramel, orange blossom, coffee and lemon macaron. The only one I didn’t try was the liquorice (purely because I can’t handle that flavour).
I realise there has been some commotion about them being frozen and imported from Switerzland, but at the same time we’re very lucky to have these infamous macarons on our shores, regardless. I think each flavour was distinct in its own way with my favourites being the salted caramel and orange blossom. Some shells were much more delicate than others and not all textures were the same, but nonetheless they were still a delight to eat!
Prices are quite steep to treat yourself every day at $3.20 per macaron, but when you deserve something good, why not spoil yourself? We all deserve it every now and again! Lunch times still generate a queue but not as ridiculous as one hour waits. I am looking forward to trying all other, any other treats on offer.

Ooh what a pretty box of macarons! I have yet to sample the famous Laduree macarons, but I fully intend to soon :D
I think you’ll be walking away with a smile on your face if you do :)
ohh a boxful of macarons – soo pretty <3 looks like you got to sample a great range of their flavours! glad to hear the queues have died down a bit, I'm yet to sample their yummy macs..love their displays – they're all so colourful!
Definitely the vibe and colours draw you in. Hope you get to try them soon! ;)
The photos are great :)! I witnessed those infamous lines when I went to do some investigation lol…was crrrraazy!! I’ll have to go and give them a try soon since the hype seems to have died down a tad!
If you time your visit right there may not be any lines :P
The orange blossom one sounds lovely, and yes, I think everyone deserves a little treat every now and then :)
It’s a flavour not really seen here so that’s why I adored it :)
I received some last week and they were nice but I did find that they were a bit different from the ones in Paris. I guess because they’re frozen and shipped :)
I too think they were different from Paris – texture wasn’t the same, but still a delight to eat :)
How exciting! I had no idea La Duree had arrived in Australia! I hope they open a store in Melbourne….. The macarons look absolutely divine!
Have a lovely day

Or you girls could just make the trip to Sydney? :P
I actually walked past it when there was no queue. still not tried yet… can you believe it? maybe this week when I get lucky again?
If you avoid lunch times then I think generally there shouldn’t be a queue :)
Dear Tina,
Your photos of these macarons look awesome! But guess what, I’m still a macaron virgin coz I haven’t got a sweet tooth :(At $3.20, I might opt for a nice slurpy Pacific oyster instead :)
Mmmmmm I love oysters too! :)
I’ve heard about this shop and the queues and is it any wonder! It all looks so very gorgeous xx
It is gorgeous and fits perfectly within westfield Sydney
I’ve yet to go but next time i’m in the city I sure will. Looks soooo good!
If you’ve been to Paris it’s not exactly the same but I think flavour is great :)
Oooo… Grab me a box and bring it to Surry Hills!! I’d love you forever ;)
Only if you bring me back food from all the cafes you have in surry hills :p
Every time I walk past there’s always a huge line still! My fave is the salted caramel too :) Orange blossom sounds lovely I’ll have to try it next time.
Laduree does get quiet at times so you just have to know when there are no queues :p
I’m totally swinging by tomorrow and grabbing one. I’m so excited!
Did you end up getting any jasmyne?? :)
Yes, everyone deserves a treat, more often than not. Still yet to give them a try.
Not many people are in a rush. Think of it this way, it will still be there… Until the lease is over? Hehe
I too am a macaron addict. I wouldnt have been able to stop at one either!.
Next time you’re in Sydney you’ll have to give it a try. Along with all the other great Macaron stores out there :)
still on my to-go list… !! :) & I love the look of macaron towers as well <3
It’s such a dainty place. The decor really is eye catching.
The macarons at Ladurée is definitely one of the highlights during my trip to Paris last year. Those beautiful, round macarons, crisp on the outside, smooth and soft in the middle, are so heavenly. Taking a bite into each will bring out such intense flavours and exhilaration. The macarons at Ladurée I had in Paris – the salted caramel, pistachio, rose, and green apple – are out of this world and had me hooked to macarons ever since.
Every time I think I’m over macarons, I find another excuse to love them again! Laduree’s macarons are amazing! Can’t wait for them to set up shop in Melbourne :)
Is Laduree coming to melbourne??? ;)
